Balmoral MacDougall
Dougie is a beautifully bred colt that has been bought in directly from the Balmoral Stud to be used as a future breeding stallion across our homebred mare once he has reached maturity.

Dougie was bred in the Scottish Highlands by Sylvia Ormiston who runs the pony stud on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen. He carries some exceptional rare bloodlines. Dougie's sire, Sunny of Runivraid, was an outstanding example of a Highland Pony and as he sadly is no longer with us Sylvia was keen that the bloodlines were utilised and so offered us the opportunity to purchase Dougie.

When we first met Dougie at Balmoral, when he was just a couple of months old, we absolutely fell for him. He was a strong, well grown colt with a 'look at me' attitude and a cheeky glint in his eye. At this time we had no idea he would end up coming home to live with us a few months later.

Dougie is continuing to grow on well. He has a very kind and willing way and a calm attitude although he is as bright as a button and is always keen to explore and investigate anything new.

Dougie was licensed in 2022 and covered his first mares in 2023. We are very much looking forward to meeting his first children.
